    How to activate pump:

    1. With the cap cover in place over the pump, invert the container upside down and tap firmly 4‐5 times. (This will force the liquid up into the actuator and create a vacuum).
    2. Return the container to its upright position.
    3. Remove the cap, and with the nozzle away from your face, press the pump to dispense the product into your hand. It may take several pumps to completely prime the pump to allow the actuator to deliver product.
    4. If pump continues to fail, try steps again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I didn't know it, but my skin needed this! I had a laser procedure done yesterday on a birth mark on my cheek. The nurse gave me a sample of the tinted version when I left the office and told me to apply before I go outside due to the sunscreen content. Well now I am hooked! This stuff is amazing!! I put it on this morning under my normal tinted moisturizer and it felt so cooling and sheer. I think I could wear this alone on a day where I am out in the sun and don't need a lot of coverage makeup wise but want to be protected. I'm going to call my dermatologist today to see if I can get a bottle. I also have super super sensitive skin and I really feel like this calmed my skin down!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could be fantastic The formula actually seems really promising and I've been searching all over for a moisturizer with SPF that doesn't irritate or dry out my sensitive skin, which makes it all the more frustrating that the pump just completely stopped working on the third day of use. No matter how many times I kept trying or how many different ways, it still would not work. At best, if I slam my hand down on the pump very hard I can get a tiny smattering of product that barely covers one cheek. Considering the price, this kind of issue is unacceptable. The most I can do now is pry open the top and use my fingers to get the product, which completely negates the hygienic advantage of such pumps. I am very disappointed here.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from sheer! awessome This is the best facial sunscreen that I have ever used! I have developed super sensitivity to all kinds of products, so at the first of the year dumped all former products and have switched to a full routine of EltaMD products after exhaustive research. I was having issues with clogged pores, probably from my old sunscreen. Two trips to the dermatologist was no help at all. A facial and EltaMD products has cleared my skin This is sheer, your skin actually feels baby soft after application. Not thick or sticky as so many sunscreens can be. I highly recommend it!! No problems with the pump, and I love the pump application. I also use the foaming cleanser,AM & AM Therapy and my skin has improved remarkably.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from It used to be the best.... I searched and failed for a very long time to find a sunscreen that felt good on my skin, moisturized without being heavy, used only zinc as a blocker and calmed my sensitive, acne-prone skin. Then I found this and my skin care prayers were answered! At least for a few years and then my acne became a problem again. When I looked online I saw that many others had the same complaint and that the formula had been changed. Why, oh why did you add octinoxate?!?! My search begins anew.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love but won't be buying again I love my UV Shield (discontinued?) sunscreen, but when I went to order a new one and found this which would be better for my acne-prone skin, I saw in the reviews that people were upset about octinoxate, so I looked it up and found out it can mess with your hormones. It's so unfortunate, because this is such a great sunscreen, but probably mostly used by women, for whom hormonal health is so important. Sad to have to switch to something else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No other sunscreen compares This sunscreen was the holy grail at the end of a decade plus search for the perfect sunscreen. It has this smooth, silky feel with no greasiness or the rebound tightness that you get from "mattifying" products. The *only* thing that would make it better is if Elta MD would please omit the octinoxate so it would be a chemical-free SPF. I don't understand why it has to be in the formula because the zinc oxide is a UVA and UVB blocker.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Changed Formula I have been using this product for 2+ years. I have tried both the untinted and tinted formulas. I didn’t care for the tinted because it left a lot of shine and broke me out. I think the formula of the untinted moisturizer has now mimiced the tinted moisturizer. I don’t remember it having silicone (which my skin doesn’t NOT like) and now realize it’s one of the top ingredients. If they could make this silicone free (or old formulation) I would be ecstatic!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great sunscreen; finally, one that leaves my skin looking healthy and does not clog pores or cause me to break out. However, I am very concerned about the use of octinoxate - why does this chemical ingredient have to be in the formulation? The chemical has been shown to disrupt the endocrine system (to cause unnatural fluctuations in hormones) in much smaller amounts than those used in this product. Why, Elta MD, why? (Again, great product, otherwise).
